J & R Tile, Inc. was founded in July 1984 by two brothers,
Raymond and John Kotara. Both men gained their
knowledge in the tile industry from hands on
experience. They began as laborer/helpers for
Villa Tile Company. John and Raymond progressed
through the apprenticeship program of the
bricklayers union and became certified
mechanics. In 1984 Aetna Enterprises was for sale. The brothers purchased the
company and changed the name to J&R Tile,

2001. John remains the owner and continues
running the business.
